It sounds like it was the Starwood side of the group, pre-merger, that got hacked. So Marriott rewards people might be okay.

Probably related to the SPG/Marriott rewards merger which is going on right now. From my experience, data system conversions are one of the biggest exposure points for data loss/theft.
